This is an entry level course is for those who are interested in a career in animal care. It is suitable for students with moderate learning difficulties and / or disabilities. The award is offered at Entry Levels 2 and 3 and focuses on a variety of animal care vocational activities. It will provide students with the basic practical skills and knowledge you need to either gain employment or progress to further training. It will also help develop common, social and interpersonal skills and widen life experiences.
Practical work is carried out in the Animal Centre and Equine facility within the Rare Breeds Farm at Croxteth Park.
Entry Criteria / Additional InformationStudents need to be 16 or over and have an interest in a practical subject to qualify. No previous qualifications are required and the College provides support for those who have learning difficulties and disabilities.

ProgressionOn completion of this course it may be possible for students to progress onto a Level 1 course or into work.
Special Requirements1. Equipment and/or Clothing - Wellington / work boots (preferably steel toe-capped), overalls, waterproofs.
2. Minimum Age - 16 Years Old
