Summary: This Diploma will prepare you for work in areas such as brickwork, woodwork, painting and decorating, and basic plumbing.








Course description: You will study a variety of associated tasks of a non-complex nature, individual work programmes with periodic reviews, tutorials, individually assessed tasks and key skills.
A variety of units are covered, including:

Carryout safe working practices in construction

Information, quantities and communicating with others

Building methods and construction technology

Small scale maintenance repairs

Small scale painting, decorating and associated repairs

Small scale plastering repairs

Small scale wood trade repairs









Entry requirements: You will need to have achieved Level 1 Diploma in Construction Skills with a good attendance and behaviour record









Objective: This course is designed to develop your skills and knowledge, enabling you to work in the industry of your chosen craft.









Academic progression: Students may go forward to further study here at City College or working with an employer.









Career progression: Students may move directly into a career or on to an apprenticeship with an employer.









Costs: For UK students aged under 19 years old on the 31st August prior to the start of your course, your tuition fees are free.
UK students aged 19 years or over on the 31st August prior to the start of your course, will need to pay tuition fees as well as any equipment, uniform and exam fees. Some adults may be eligible for free tuition.
There will be costs for equipment, uniform and trips.
