The objective of the Civil Engineering BSc program is to train civil engineers who are capable of solving complex planning, design, management, operational and construction problems of civil engineering in the public sector and in private industry. Students completing the undergraduate program will have developed competences or acquired knowledge in the following areas:
applying knowledge in practice gained in mathematics, science and engineering
designing and conducting experiments, as well as analyzing and interpreting data
designing a system, component, or process to meet desired needs
identifying, formulating and solving engineering problems
using techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary in practice
applying knowledge in the following four recognized major civil engineering areas: structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering and water resources engineering, focusing on one or more of the four areas
performing civil engineering design
applying the principles of sustainability in civil engineering
