Description

This course is intended to provide students with the technical education requirements for the position of Engineering Technician. The syllabus is broad-based to allow for future employment with Civil Engineering contractors, consulting engineers or local authorities. Emphasis is placed on modern technology through the application of computers in civil engineering. There is an option to leave after two years with an HNC.

Course Description

Mathematics for Construction and Engineering; Civil Engineering; Materials and Testing; Civil Engineering Contract & Project Management A; Civil Engineering Specialisms; Construction Site Surveying B; Graded Unit; Optional Unit: Traffic Engineering; Optional Unit: Highway Engineering.

Year 3
Health and Safety in Construction; Structural Analysis A; Civil Engineering Technology; Reinforced Concrete Design and Detailing; CAD for Civil Engineers; Geotechnics A; Structural Analysis B.

Year 4
