Study French, Italian, Spanish or German alongside the main disciplines of civil engineering. You'll spend your third year studying civil engineering at a university in your chosen country.
This is a major/minor degree so the split between the two subjects is roughly 70/30.
The first and second years introduce the core civil engineering disciplines of structures, water, geotechnics and environmental issues. In the first year, you'll take the Global Engineering Challenge. This involves working with other engineering students on a one-week project to tackle a real-world problem. The challenge is designed to develop your skills and enhance your career prospects.
Throughout the course, you'll take modules in the language and culture of your chosen country. When you go to Europe for your third year, you'll be taught in that language. It's a great opportunity to develop your confidence and independence.
In the fourth year, you'll work on your own individual project and you'll be involved in an integrated design project to design an entire eco-town or urban regeneration site.
