The CIW Web Security Associate course teaches you how to secure your network from unauthorized activity. This course teaches you about security principles, such as establishing an effective security policy, and about the different types of hacker activities that you are most likely to encounter. Individuals with these security skills can pursue or advance careers in many aspects of online and network security. Candidates who also pass additional certification exams from third-party security training providers can earn the higher-level, CIW Web Security Specialist and CIW Web Security Professional certifications.

About this course

There are no prerequisites for the Web Security Associate course. However, students should possess Internet and networking knowledge equivalent to what is presented in the CIW Web Foundations series courses. Web Security Associate builds upon this foundational knowledge to give students the skills and knowledge to manage and protect the security of online data, from a single computer to an entire corporate network.

This qualification has been developed by CIW to teach students the skills required for a career in web design and IT. CIW have a strong reputation for providing quality course materials and certification to professionals in many different countries.

The examination for this course must be taken at an approved CIW centre and is marked out of a possible 62. The examination is 90 minutes in length and students must achieve a grade of 76% or more in order to pass. Exam ID: 1D0-571
