The claims liquidator is the one who intervenes when, following an accident, there is a request for compensation from the insured party. This is a relatively recent professional figure, who has the task of receiving complaints about the accident and evaluating them according to what is declared by the parties, by witnesses and by the measurements made by the police (if they have intervened). The liquidator follows the bureaucratic process of the file in close contact with the insurance expert and, in the case of physical damage to persons, with the coroner. The role of the liquidator is very important, because he makes sure that all the necessary conditions are in place to approve the claim for compensation of the injured party: only afterwards, will he proceed with the payment of the sum allocated for the damage. To become a liquidator, it is required to pass a specific exam issued by the Ministry of Transport in Rome, which can only be taken if you have at least a secondary school diploma. The exam requires the candidate to have a very technical training, which requires knowledge of specific terms and procedures: for this reason it is preferable that the aspiring liquidator has attended an accountancy or surveyor's institute, or has a degree in economics. To undertake the career of liquidator, specific training masters are also available that offer the possibility of internships with some insurance companies. The liquidator can work as a freelancer, collaborating with companies that deal with claims assessment and related liquidations,
