Course Structure

Certificate Year - All Core Modules

  • Practice Foundations, 15 credits (nine months, studied across the whole of the certificate year)
  • Clinical Foundations, 15 credits (three months)
  • Clinical Practice 1, 15 credits (three months)
  • Clinical Practice 2, 15 credits (three months)

Students leaving after year one will receive a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy

Diploma Year - Core Module ( All students will study this module)

  • Clinical Practice 3, 15 credits (three months)

Diploma Year - Optional Route One

  • Public Health, 15 credits (three months)
  • Service Evaluation, 15 credits (three months)
  • Practice Development, 15 credits (nine months, studied across the whole of the diploma year)

Students studying this route will receive a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy.

Diploma Year - Optional Route Two

  • Research Methods, 30 credits (three months)
  • Public Health, 15 credits (three months)

Students studying this route will receive a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy.

Diploma Year - Optional Route Three

  • Independent Prescribing, 45 credits (six months) - Clinical Pharmacy PG Dip

Please note that the independent prescribing module has a seprate entry criteria and admissions process.

Students studying this route will receive a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy with Independent Prescribing.

Masters Year

  • Research Project, 60 credits (14 months) - Clinical Pharmacy MSc

Students who wish to study the Masters Year need to study optional route two during their diploma year.
