Course programme
This programme will equip you with research skills that will be helpful when working towards a career in clinical or other applied psychology fields, or in clinical research.
This programme consists of 180 credits, where 10 credits equates to 100 hours of student effort.
Full-time students must complete the taught modules, along with the two research placements, in the first two terms. The final project is completed in the third term and summer vacation.
The recommendation for part-time students is that the taught modules and the first placement is completed in the first year of study, and the second placement and research project in the second year of study.
Students must complete the following modular components:
- Psychological Issues in Clinical Settings 1
- Psychological Issues in Clinical Settings 2
- Transferable Skills
- Foundations in Critical Thinking
- One optional module from: Principles of Applied Psychology, or Design and Analysis
Plus the Research Component. This comprises placement 1 and 2, and the project, which is presented in thesis format.
