"The coachbuilder is the one who works inside a mechanical workshop and takes care of repairing damage to the bodywork, replacing the piece in the event of irreparable damage and applying, subsequently, when the work is almost finished, the layer of paint. Bodywork means a workshop where the bodywork of cars or other vehicles is repaired or built. The term derives from carriage, in fact the first coachbuilders were precisely those who dealt with the construction of carriages who, subsequently with the beginning of the twentieth century, adapted their work and used it for motor vehicles. Many of the most famous Italian and foreign body shops, born in those years, are still active and / or transformed into car and motorcycle companies or private tuning companies and famous automotive design studios.
