About this course
Students who have a basic knowledge of carpentry hand tools and would like to upskill or expand their knowledge
There are no formal entry requirements, however applicants must have basic knowledge of carpentry hand tools and a willingness to learn
If English is not your first language, you will need an IELTS (Academic) 5.5 or equivalent that is approved by the Home Office which is available at www.gov.uk

There will be two methods show, with the majority of the course being practical while some sessions will be geometry in a classroom
The subjects covered will be -
- Construct wall plates
- Set out and position Rafters on Wall Plates
- Mark out Bevels and lengths of Common Rafters
- Mark out Bevels and lengths of Jack Rafters and Cripple Rafters
- Mark out Hips and Valley Rafters
- Mark out Bevels and lengths of Purlins
