The introduction covers health and safety, building and darkroom procedures and familiarises the user with the space and equipment. It is also a darkroom printing introduction/refresher
course. It provides users with initial or refresher printing guidance, giving pointers as to how to get the best out of this particular darkroom space and enables them to go on to work by themselves or with on-going support if requested.

About this course
The sessions are open to photographers of all different ages and ability levels, including beginners.
We look at the process of making a contact sheet from which 2 or 3 exposures are chosen to being enlarged. Students can also improve their understanding of basic camera controls,
Bookings should be made at least 24 hours in advance. All cancellations must be made by the day before the booking at the latest. Charges will be made for non cancellation of bookings.
Users should attend a half hour induction before using the darkrooms for the first time. The sessions are to be used within 8 weeks from the time of booking.

Course programme
To enable access to the darkroom facilities at Chats Palace you will need to complete an induction session in either colour or black and white printing here.
The general darkroom information and course descriptions are in the PDF attached below. Please give it a read.
We will be running the induction classes in June and July 2017 between 10am-2pm on the following dates;
Sunday June 11th - Colour - full up.
Saturday June 17th - Black and White
Sunday June 25th - Colour
Sunday July 2nd - Colour
Saturday July 9th - Black and White
Sunday July 23rd - Colour
There are places available on all of those dates (unless otherwise stated) if you would like to go ahead and make a booking.
The cost of the courses are £50 each.
I will provide the paper for these sessions. You just bring a selection of your negatives that you would like to print from

If you do go ahead and make a booking it would be helpful if you could send me a brief outline of your photo/printing experience and what you are hoping to do printing wise?
To confirm your place you need to make the course payment at least 48 hours in advance. If we don't receive the payment by that time it will be presumed that you are not going to take up the place and it will be offered to the next person.
