Course programme

At the end of this course students will achieve an ITEC Level 3 qualification in both Aromatherapy and in Massage
Aromatherapy is a great addition to a Therapist’s treatment list as it can be used for wonderfully relaxing treatments as well as for the enhancement of other treatments such as Swedish Massage , Stone Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and a wide range of Spa treatments
It can make your treatments individual and unique
A qualification in Massage also opens the door to providing many other treatments such as Hot Stone Massage , Sports Massage, Baby Massage , Spa Treatments, On Site Massage and Thai Massage treatments
This new course will be a great introduction to those wishing to become part of the Complementary Therapy industry, as well as for anyone wishing to extend their knowledge and skills in providing therapeutic treatments
The new combined Aromatherapy and Massage course includes: Learning a wide variety of massage techniques
Learning about the names, sources, properties and constituents of essences and fixed oils for use in treatments

Learning how to use essential oils safely
Learning how to blend appropriate essential oils for effective use

Learning the history and philosophy of Massage and Aromatherapy The qualification will require case studies and assignments for Massage and Aromatherapy, and will be internally and externally assessed
Pre-requisite
The ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology is a pre-requisite to the ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Massage
For those students who do not already possess a qualification in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, this is now available as a home study module to be studied either in advance or alongside your practical training
The Diploma in Massage can be booked as a combination course with the Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology
Please contact us for further information
It is also compulsory for students to complete the Professional Conduct and Business Awareness (Level 2) - Distance Learning Course however it is highly recommended that the Award in Business Practice for Complementary Therapies (Level 3) - Distance Learning Course is completed
Case studies are also required to be completed for this award
The case studies form the internal assessment and should be assessed throughout the training by the tutor using the ITEC Case Study Guidance sheet
The case studies are then verified by an ITEC Examiner at the end of the course during the visit for invigilating the practical examination
The case studies ensure that a variety of clients must be consulted and treated in all the above areas and the outcomes of the treatments must be documented in order to gain experience of working with a variety of clients and conditions whilst candidates are still under supervision
Detailed rationales for the type of massage treatment and outcomes must be shown, as well as after care
This award qualifies graduates to operate their own clinic or home visiting practice
Graduates can also gain employment in Salons, Health Club, Health Farms, Spas and Liners, NHS Trust and various aspects of the Care Industry
ITEC require 100% attendance in order to obtain the Level 3 Diploma
Students who do not attend all modules will need to organise tutorials with their tutor to enable them to access missed information
