Applications for Pre-sessional courses are now open!
The Combined Pre-sessional course offers preparation for international and EU students who have an offer with King’s and need to meet their English language requirements before starting their degree.
The Combined Pre-sessional course offers a modern way of studying, blending online and on-campus learning. It provides you flexibility by allowing you to start the course online, from the comfort of your own home.
If you'd rather start your studies in London, you still have the option of applying to our face-to-face Pre-sessional course, which is taught on-campus. The combined and face-to-face courses are equivalent, both of them aiming to provide you with the skills you need on your main degree courses.

Course programme
Year 1
The Combined Pre-sessional course is taught through a combination of online and face-to-face learning including lectures, seminars and classes and you are expected to dedicate time to self-study and independent research tasks. You will be assigned a personal tutor who you will meet with on a regular basis to receive advice on your progress.
For the final stage of the course, students progressing to King's Business School will be grouped together and follow materials specific to Business (please note: this does not apply to the 6-Week Combined Pre-sessional).
You will study the following:
English for Academic Purposes
Classes help you to develop your academic essay writing, language, and research skills, as well as your critical reading and listening abilities.
Seminar and Presentation Skills
Classes also help you to develop your oral skills, focusing on your ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, to present and defend a position, and to listen and respond to other people’s ideas.
Tutorials
Students’ progress is monitored carefully. Regular tutorials are arranged throughout the course, during which tutors give student feedback on students' progress.
