This course is a 3 day course which gives you a good knowledge and understanding of Servicing, installation and commissioning of commercial catering equipment.
CoDC1 Training & Assessment (2 Day's) -:
Training will be given on the change over from CCN1 domestic gas to commercial catering.
The Changeover Gas Safety Assessment covers 2 core modules:-
- - Ventilation and Combustion - related to Commercial Catering Appliances
- - Installation of Pipe work and Fittings for Commercial Catering Appliances
Commercial catering is made up of 4 modules -
COMCAT1 - Commercial catering boiling burner's open/solid top ranges
- Boiling tables
- Stockpot stoves, hotplates, warming plates
- Bain-marie, hot cupboards
- Combination ovens, forced convection ovens
- Natural convection ovens direct/semi/indirect
- Combined gas microwave ovens
- Ancillary equipment
COMCAT2 - Commercial catering pressure type water boilers
- Water boiler pressure type or expansion type
- Water boilers, boiling pans direct/indirectly heated
- Pressure steamers
- Bulk liquid and jacketed urns
- Gas-fired dish washers
- Pressurised steaming ovens
- Gas heated rinsing sinks
- Ancillary equipment
COMCAT3 - Commercial catering deep fat and pressure fryers
Deep fat and pressure fryers
- Bratt pans
- Griddles
- Simulated charcoal grills
- Grill over and under-fired
- Salamander grills
- Ancillary equipment
COMCAT4 - Commercial catering fish & chip rangers
Fish and chip ranges
Each module will cover the installation, exchange, disconnect, service, repair breakdown and commission of each commercial gas catering appliance. (Training is approximately 2 hours for each module.)
Qualification
There is assessment for each module please note there are no theory papers for COMCAT 1, 2 & 3 only practical tests. On completion you will be issued a certificate from ERS our awarding body. Once you have received your certificate you can then apply to Gas Safe to register on the Gas Safe Register.
Because the core (CCN1) is a mandatory requirement for any further appliance assessment it must always be maintained as a valid and current assessment certificate.
Please note you must hold a current (CCN1) in order to complete the commercial catering course.
