Commercial Music Level 2 (First Diploma)

This one-year course gives an introduction to a wide range of music related subjects. It is made up of units that develop practical music skills and knowledge of the music industry. If you want to be a musician this course will offer you the chance to perform as part of the band or as a soloist. For those wishing to become DJ’s and Music Producers the course will begin the development of key skills required for these roles. Core Units All BTEC Level 2 Diploma Commercial Music students take these subjects: Working in the Music Industry Professional Development in the Music Industry Planning and Creating a Music Product Exploring Computer Systems Used by Musicians Producing a Musical Recording Investigating an Area of Music Exploring Musical Composition. Students are given the option to specialise in either Music Performance or DJ Technology as part of the Commercial Music programme and in these specialist sessions you will cover some of the following units: Rehearsal Techniques for Musicians Developing as a Musical Performer DJ Technology & Performance. Successful completion of the course will give you a nationally recognised qualification.
