In cooperation with the University of Tampere (Finland) and the Mykolas Romeris University (Vilnius, Lithuania), the Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria) offers a unique joint Master’s Degree program titled "Comparative Social Policy and Welfare (COSOPO)".

The program aims to supplement students’ academic credentials and enhance future career prospects to pursue professions as highly qualified analysts and applied researchers at Austrian, European and international organizations. Students work together in an international environment and acquire skills to create, develop and evaluate social programs and projects. The program provides a greater understanding of social policy and welfare theories. Students will acquire abilities to openly engage and critically examine these fields as well as acquire expertise and a strong understanding of comparative and interdisciplinary welfare and social policy research, skills in intercultural communication, and skills to implement and conduct research in social policy and welfare within countries that have different welfare models. In addition, the international cooperation and interdisciplinary approach offers students the opportunity to acquire intercultural competences and holistic perspectives.

Diploma degree or Bachelor's degree in an area of Social Sciences, Economics or Business, or a comparable degree program
Strong background and knowledge of methods in social sciences

Additional information

The COSOPO curriculum is flexible (e-learning and on-site classroom sessions), making it possible to study simultaneously at three distinguished universities (JKU, UTA and MRU) and without traveling long distances.

Two-week intensive programs at the partner universities (Mykolas Romeris University, University of Tampere, Johannes Kepler University Linz)

Students complete a subject-related internship
