The Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order (RRFSO) came into force on the 1st October 2006, this new legislation will replace the current fire legislation, with the onus now being put on the owners of bisinesses and bisiness premises.
This order requires the Responcible or Competant person to ensure they have a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment in place and that there fire protection arrangements meet the requirement of the new order.
This course is designed to give delegates the skills and confidence to be able to carry out their duties of the competent person as laid down in the RRFSO.
The course is run over two days and covers the following subjects:
- Teh requirements of the Regulatory Reform Order
- The role of the competant person
- The fire risk assessment process
- Ignition sources
- Combustable meterials
- Identifying people at risk
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- Means of escape
- Emergency lighting
- Firefighting equipment
- Record keeping
On completion of the course delegates will be required to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment of their own place of work.
