Solid Modelling is an important design tool used by all major industrial companies with an ever increasing number of smaller companies recognising its potential benefits.
The parametric modelling software produces accurate and realistic 3D Solid Models and quickly assembles models which would be far more time consuming on traditional CAD software. The Solid Model can then be utilised in other stages of design / development such as testing, prototyping and even manufacture - things that simple drawing techniques could not achieve.
Units covered are;
- Use complex sketching and 2D constraints to create features
- Create and edit work features and use complex feature commands
- Create and modify simple table driven parts and assemblies
- Use motion and driven assembly constraints
- Add additional information to a drawing layout to aid the interpretation of design intent
- Create quality displays of parts and assemblies
