Course Description
The BSc Computer Networking (Year 3) course provides detailed focus upon system administration for network servers. Modules cover both the Windows and Linux operating systems, and the design of computer networks. The course will provide you with the fundamental knowledge to design, implement and manage an efficient and secure networked system of computers and servers.

Preferred Entry Requirements
Students that have completed an HND in either Networking and Internet Technology or Technical Support will gain direct entry into this course.

Course Duration
Course Duration: 1 academic year
Start Date: Sep-09
End Date: Jun-10
Hours per week: 16 hours per week (plus independent study)

Course Content
Core modules include Windows Network and Domain administration, Unix Systems Administration, Network Design and Professional Network Practice.

Progression
Students completing the BSc Computer Networking course are eligible to progress to year 4 Honours. As a graduate of the Computer Networking course, you could be expected to be qualified for jobs such as Network Administrator, System Engineer, System Administrator, Network Support Specialist and Network Support Technician, and numerous other information or networking technology positions.
