Computers For The Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered

Delivery:

Study will take place through learning in a pleasant, well-equipped computer bay with access to individual computers.

Lessons will take the form of:

• whole class tuition
• demonstrations
• discussions
• quizzes and 'hands on' practice

You will be provided with appropriate learning materials.

You will study the basic skills required to operate a computer. This will entail:

• Using a word processor for the creation of text documents
• Being able to carry out basic formatting and editing of documents
• Saving and printing of documents
• Finding information from the Internet using web addresses and Search Engines
• Using an email system to send and receive messages
• Creating a portfolio of work
• Learning how to organise your files
• Becoming aware of Health and Safety when using a computer

Assessment:

You will prove your ability through building a portfolio of work, which will be tutor assessed, to demonstrate the skills learned. The tasks undertaken will take place within the normal lessons and be attempted as and when you are ready.
