2. Course description This course is using software designed for people with an interest in digital photography and photo manipulation. By the end of this course you will be able to:1) Identify different areas of the Photoshop Elements workspace2) Manipulate images using a variety of features, functions and tools3) Understand layers4) Identify different image types 5) Save work in a variety of image file formats6) Improve the general appearance of troublesome images7) Create composites from a selection of different images8) Have an understanding of image resizing and resolution9) Add and format text10) Know how to use the Photoshop Elements Help facility11) Use a variety of keyboard shortcuts

3. Entry requirements This is a beginner's course, suitable for learners with a little or no experience of using Adobe Photoshop Elements. However, learners must be confident using a computer, mouse and keyboard, and have an understanding of Microsoft Windows.It is essential that learners have a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements on their home computer (a recent version is preferable) in order to develop their skills further outside the classroom.We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs.
