Programme Description:
The BTEC Level 3 Nationals in IT provides a broad base of Computing knowledge and applications for learners. Students can study 60 to 180 credits, from Subsidiary Diploma to the full Extended Diploma. It is assessed entirely by coursework. It is suitable for 16-19 year old students wishing to work in the IT field or progress to higher education in this area.

The qualification also provides opportunities to progress to Higher Education vocational qualifications such as BTEC Higher National Diploma in Applied Computing or a full-time degree in Applied Computing.

Programme Features:

Provides education and training for IT practitioners employed in systems support, analysis and design, software testing, network administration etc. Recognised progression route to Higher Education - HND or Degree in Computing. Sound underpinning knowledge of computer theory with practical application. All Units are assessed through coursework.

Modules include: Communication and Employability Skills for IT; Computer Systems; Information Systems; Event Driven Programming; Computer Systems Architecture; Client Side Customisation of Web Pages; Website Production; Digital Graphics and Spreadsheet Modelling.
