The emphasis is on implementing computing solutions for the modern computing environment. This means focusing on the internet and intranet applications, mobile app development, web design and database management techniques and technologies which underpin e-Commerce and cloud computing.

How will I study?
The course includes a full range of computing skills and technologies including programming, data analysis, web design, server-side web development, 3D modeling and animation, networking and computer platforms. The course sets these skills and technologies in a context by including e-Commerce We take pride in offering an HND in Computing which includes the latest, most relevant and employable skills possible. The languages, techniques and systems we deliver is under constant review, but at present we offer modules based on: Visual Studio 2012 with C Sharp including WPF, XAML and Expression Blend, Java for Android App Developmentt, Web Application Development using ASP.Net, LINQ and MVC, Microsoft SQL Server 2012, Systems Analysis using UML 2.0, Router technology following the Cisco curriculum, 3D Modeling and Animation using 3D Studio Max 2010, Web Development with HTML5, XML, CSS3, PHP and MySQL, LAMP architecture (LINUX, Apache, MySQL and PHP).
How will I be taught?
Effective teaching and learning is at the heart of all that we do at Chichester College. As a Higher Education student you will attend up to 15 hours of learning workshops per week over 2, 14-week semseters in each year. You will experience a variety of learning oppotuinies and styles, including group work and invidual research, although the emphasis is on practical, workshop based learning intended to stretch and challenge each individual.At the end of year 1 students achieve an Edexcel BTEC
How will I be assessed?
Student assessment involves two assignments per module; a mid-module and an end-of-module assignment. These assessments are coursework based projects with a real-world employability focus.
