Computing - Applied IT & Business Extended Diploma (Level 3)

The subject areas studied include:- Communication and Employability Skills for IT Business Resources Understanding Business Ethics Computer Systems Information Systems Impact of IT e-commerce Systems Analysis Spreadsheet Design Introduction to Marketing Starting a Small Business Database Design 2D Animation Products All Year Client Side Customisation of Web Pages 3D Modelling Data Analysis and Design Organisational System Security Software Design and Development In addition to studying your main programme you will have tutorial sessions in which an Individual Learning Plan will be set. All the programme units are assignment based. Computer Technology rooms at the Technology Campus. A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above; to include both Maths and English Language at Grade C(or equivalent). A Level 2 NVQ or Level 2 Diploma at Merit Grade; with both Maths and English at Level 2. A Higher Diploma (equivalent to 7 GCSEs at Grades A* - C); consideration will be given to those who achieve the Principal Learning on the Higher Diploma and have other L2 qualifications to support their entry. You will be placed on the course that matches your qualifications at interview. Successful completion of this course will lead to the award of a BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma. Once completed you can Top-Up to an Extended Diploma. Employment is sought in business management, e-commerce, marketing and business administration. Many of our students have progressed onto university to study degrees in Computing, Computer Forensics and Computer Networking.
