Therefore, to understand computing in its varying dimensions is part of the necessary skill set for the 21st century. Employment opportunities include software and systems developers, network administrators, database designers, web developers, and various managerial posts in computing related fields. Many also go on to postgraduate courses here at Newport.

Your career prospects may also be enhanced by taking advantage of our links with professional bodies. Typically these may include BCS membership, CISCO networking accreditation and ECDL certification. Opportunities also exist for work experience with UK and European employers.

Interview Required
There is no formal interview and offers will be made based upon your UCAS application. If you are offered a place, you will be invited to attend a course specific event which will allow you to visit the campus and meet key staff.

Assessment
You are exposed to a range of teaching methods and will be required to undertake group and presentation work. Year 1 is focused on practical work with hands on assessment - exams have been reduced.
