What you need to know
How will I study?

In the IT User element of the course, you could be studying: Improving Productivity (core unit) Using IT, IT User Fundamentals, Using the internet/email, Spreadsheet Software, Word Processing Software, IT Communications Fundamentals, Presentation Software, Website Software, Set Up an IT System, IT Security, Specialist Software, Desktop Publishing, IT Software Fundamentals, Bespoke Software. Note the units will be looked at during the academic year to suit the needs and abilities of the students. If you are a full time student aged 16-18 you will follow a study programme which will consist of your main course, enterprise and enrichment activities, English and maths as well work experience.
How will I be taught?

Each unit requires an assignment brief within the course. These will be given out to you after you have completed all the necessary tasks in lessons. The structure of each unit assignment is that you are given in class tasks/activity to complete. If these are not completed within the time frame then this becomes out of class/homework. Towards the end of the unit you will be given the assignment brief and yourself and your tutor will then collate the work and submit.
How will I be assessed?

The assessment of the course is ongoing in every lesson by all staff to every student on the course. The individual units in Business and ICT are assessed through an assignment, which are marked, graded and discussed with each student, whereas functional Skills are exam paper in or out of class.
