It is a requirement that all confined space operations are carried out by suitably trained and experienced personnel. This course has been designed to provide the delegate with the necessary knowledge and best industry practices for entering or working safely in confined spaces.
CONTENT: The Confined Spaces Regulations No 1997 SI1713; Best Industry Practices; Definitions of a Confined Space; Specified Risks and their Control Measures; Safe Systems of Work; Opening, Testing and Isolation Requirements; Ventilation, Purging and Cleaning Equipment; Access, Egress and Communications; PPE; RPE; Gas Monitoring; Dangerous Gases and Oxygen; Permit to Work Systems; Emergency Equipment and Procedures; Basic First Aid; Practical Exercises.
The course is divided into classroom theory and practical exercises and ends with a written test paper. Successful delegates are issued with an NSL certificate of training.
PPE REQUIRED: Coveralls, hard hat and safety boots and gloves.
