What will I learn?
This course will introduce you to the core disciplines attached to achieving a professional career in the construction industry. Units include health, safety and welfare, construction and the environment, construction technology and design and construction science and materials. It is a work related specialist qualification that focuses on particular aspects of employment within the appropriate vocational sector, including some of the key areas of knowledge, understanding and skills required. It provides education and training in technical and professional areas that are directly relevant to the changing needs of construction employees, employers and professions which may reflect the career route that you wish to follow, or be directly related to your work experience.

This course is taught at your workplace including classroom delivery.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through coursework and practical projects.

What could I do next?
HNC in construction course which will then lead to a degree level study programme or professional construction industry qualifications e.g. surveying.

Requirement
You will need to be employed within the building industry, or be seeking employment in it. You will normally need to have at least one of the following: a BTEC First Certificate or BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in a related subject, an intermediate GNVQ in a related subject, at least four GCSEs at grades A-C (to include science, maths and English) and / or appropriate knowledge and / or experience gained at work or from related qualifications.
