Construction BTEC National Certificate Level 3

Is this course for me?
If you are already working in or are about to start work in the
Construction Industry aiming for a career in building surveying,
quantity surveying, site management or architecture, this is the
course for you. On completion of the course, you can go on to a
Higher National Certificate in Construction.
What will I study?
This course covers construction technology, management, design,
land surveying, building surveying, science and materials,
health and safety, building regulations and mathematics.

  be chosen)
• Property Law (* Option units - one must be chosen)

What can I do next?
This can lead to higher education at Lewisham College studying
on a Higher National Certificate. Lewisham College has an excellent
reputation for students progressing onto degree courses from the
Higher National Certificate.

What are the entry requirements?
You will need to attend the College for an interview and may be
asked to complete a short test. Please do not be put off as,
depending upon your experience, there is some flexibility over
entry requirements.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through assignments, phase tests and practical
activities such as use of surveying instruments and drawing work.
You will have regular meetings with your personal tutor to discuss
your progress and to help plan your studies. Additional support,
help and guidance is also available from the guidance team or from
our Study Buddies (a network of students offering help to fellow
students).
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
