What will you be learning?
The course is aimed at people who want to pursue a professional career in the construction industry. It is recognised as a formal progression path towards gaining higher level qualifications in a wide range of professional careers within construction.

The course covers modules in: Architectural detailing; structural detailing; construction technology; built environment; organisation and procedures; mathematics; materials in construction; surveying; history of design; design procedures; administration; building regulations and environmental science.

Assessment is by internal tests.

What happens when you have finished?
You may progress onto the Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Building Studies (previously BTEC National Certificate) in the second year or enter employment as a supervisor/manager in the construction industry.
