Course programme
Year 1
There are four mandatory units, which cover the following aspects of construction:
● construction principles
● construction design
● health and safety in construction
● construction technology.
The mandatory units will introduce students to personal responsibilities for health, safety and welfare, the industry and legislative requirements for health and safety, and the application of organisational processes and risk management to ensure compliance. We will then choose three optional units focusing on their areas of preferred specialism. These units have been designed to support students’ progression to a range of employment opportunities in the construction sector and will allow them a choice of covering principles across one or more of the following disciplines.
