About this course

Standard entry to this course is one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance at your last place of study. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 2 or above (E/F) plus two further GCSE’s at grade 2 or above including a science or technology based subject.

Course programme

Year 1

This qualification covers a range of hand-skills and practical tasks in the following areas: bricklaying, plastering, floor and wall tiling, carpentry and joinery, and painting and decorating. You will study introduction to Health and Safety in construction; introduction to the construction industry; and applicable units aligned to the chosen construction trades.

Assessment is by assignment for each unit taken.
