The Euromasters course offers a distinctive international learning experience, with an opportunity to study at several prestigious institutions across two continents.

With an enthusiastic teaching team who are experts in their research fields, and a diverse course of study, this two year master’s degree is recognised throughout the EU and beyond.

You'll gain a broad comparative understanding of the European Union, European politics, policy and social evolution as well as specialist knowledge of key issues in the Euro-Atlantic area and international relations.

IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in all components
The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): 62 with no less than 59 in any element
TOEFL IBT: 90 overall with a minimum 21 in all 4 components
If you need to improve your English language skills before starting your studies, you may be able to take a pre-sessional course to reach the required level.

Course programme

Course structure

Occasionally we make changes to our programmes in response to, for example, feedback from students, developments in research and the field of studies, and the requirements of accrediting bodies. You will be advised of any significant changes to the advertised programme, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Units

After the initial core module at the University of Bath you will undertake two taught semesters, followed by the completion of a 15,000 word dissertation to be submitted by September in the second year.

You must study at a minimum of two sites, including the University of Bath; you may also choose to study at a third site.

Compulsory course units

Core Module

You will study at the University of Bath from September 2020 to January 2021.

  • Scopes and methods of politics and international relations
  • Plus 3 optional units
Specialist Module 1

You will complete Specialist Module 1 from January to June 2021 in the USA at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Specialist Module 2

You will complete Specialist Module 2 from October 2021 to March 2022.

This Module allows you take advantage of core areas of academic expertise at various partner sites around key themes.

  • Free University of Berlin or Humboldt University of Berlin (General themes: Democratisation and political change in Europe)
  • University of Siena (General themes: Europe in the twenty-first century – choices and challenges)
