Designed to ignite your imagination, this course will challenge and develop your existing drawing and painting skills through a series of innovative creative approaches. Using modern practical methods, familiar subjects such as the still life and the nude model will be addressed from a fresh perspective, re-imagining classical art subjects and the surrounding environment in order to create new artworks. A solid technical grounding will form the basis of our approach. The work created during this course could be ideal for inclusion in portfolios for entry to A-Level or similar courses in Graphics, Fine Art or Design.

Course programme
A stimulating range of subjects, materials and approaches will be utilised, including:
- still life and figure painting
- using paint, collage, charcoal, inks, crayons and even tea and coffee
- introducing new methodologies
- exploring experimental approaches which will allow you to adapt and take the next step in your making process

This course is ideal for any student considering further study within the arts. It will provide an excellent creative grounding for young people from all backgrounds.
This course will complement training provided by other short courses for 16-18 year olds, such as ‘Life Drawing’, ‘Life Painting’ and ‘Art and Design Workshops’.
Entry requirements: None
Level: Beginners as well as students with some previous experience wishing to develop their skills further.
