About this course

Learn to function as a team member in home and special care, through a combination of hands-on classroom learning and practicums that provide clinical experience in home and long-term care settings.

This program focuses on working with the elderly, but you’ll be prepared to work with clients of all ages.

Continuing care assistants may work in home care settings, long-term care facilities, private care homes, acute care facilities, integrated facilities, supportive housing or special needs classrooms. Most continuing care assistants work for the Saskatchewan Health Authority, as part of a health care team under the supervision of registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses and-or licensed practical nurses.

Grade 12 or successful completion of 15 post-secondary credits from a recognized institution.
English Language Requirement
Accepted applicants will be required to provide evidence of a current criminal record check and vulnerable sector check prior to entering the clinical component of the program
