Managing Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Enabling health and community care professionals to manage and care for sufferers according
to National Standards
How this course can help you.
A report, called “Breathing Fear”, suggested that only one in four people with a potentially fatal condition have it diagnosed. The condition is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and it is predicted that it will be the third largest killer by the year 2020 (British Thoracic Society). This course will enable you to manage the care of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) according to the standards of the British Thoracic Society and National
Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). The course is work-based and very flexible, accessed via the Web, with a book-marking facility allowing users to work through the courses at their own pace, breaking-off when and where they wish. Completion of the course is recognised with a Certificate - valuable for annual appraisals and/or CPD.
