For example a candidate that would like to install central heating systems would be expected to complete CENWAT (Boilers and Water heaters) together with CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysers).

Course overview The course is intended to be for operatives who carry out installation and maintenance work on domestic natural gas pipe work and appliances as required under Accredited Certification Scheme rules. The Core Gas Safety Training includes training and assessment in the following areas: Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations, Relevant Health and Safety, RIDDOR, The Combustion Process Burners, Gas Rating, Gas Safety Controls, Flueing requirements, Ventilation requirements, Pipework and pipe sizing and Industry Unsafe procedures. Entry requirements You must hold either a plumbing or gas NVQ and possess at least 60 days recorded evidence of working within the full range of gas installation covered within the CCN1 assessment. This evidence should be presented within a portfolio and will have been countersigned by a GasSafe registered engineer. Training may be required prior to attempting the assessments dependant upon experience.
