An introduction to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations concentrating on the risks to health and the importance and use of control measures.

Aims
To give participants a better awareness of the risks arising from substances hazardous to health and a better understanding of how they should be controlled.

Objectives

• To raise awareness of the risks caused by hazardous substances and the ways in which they can be controlled
• To explain the content of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations
• To define what a substance hazardous to health is
• Explain the likely routes of entry in to the body of hazardous substances
• List the documents providing information on hazardous substances and control measures
