Course programme
This course introduces you to Psychodynamic & Humanistic theories and help students see the place for theory in the counselling process.
You will participate in a range of activities to develop your counselling skills, such as group discussions and triad role-plays. You will also undertake self-awareness exercises to learn about yourself and yourself in relationships.
As part of your self-development and understanding of the counselling relationship, you will complete 6 hours of personal counselling with an independent external counsellor therapist. You will also keep a weekly journal to record your learnings on the course.
You need to have successfully completed the CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and require a reference/tutor recommendation. You will also have an interview.
You will be required to complete all units and will undergo an external assessment.
On successful completion of this course, you will achieve the CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling studies, awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body.
You will be able to progress to courses such as the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, the CPCAB Level 2 Award in Understanding Substance Abuse or the CPCB Level 3 Certificate in Life Coaching Studies.
