Course programme

Structure

Along with the core module in Countryside Management which covers a range of key issues, you will also be required to select five other elective modules. Within the broad remit of ‘countryside management’ these elective choices give students an opportunity to both pursue more specific interest that they have, but also to better position themselves in the job market.

If you have already secured employment, and are studying part-time, you may elect to follow the 30 credit, work based, Improving Personal Professional Practice module in place of the Dissertation, thus reducing the time required to attend campus based modules.

The course will be delivered through a series of lectures, seminars, group projects, and visits and demonstrations on farms, agricultural business and in laboratories. Modules are assessed through a range of techniques, including research projects, examinations, presentations, and case studies.
