Course programme
This two year, part time Level 3 course is designed to contribute towards the knowledge and understanding for the NVQs in Engineering Level 3. It provides a valuable alternative if you do not have access to the NVQ.
This qualification is for you if you:
- Intend to follow an Apprenticeship programme
- Wish for career progression in the engineering industry
- Wish to develop the skills learnt from other qualifications
- Require evidence towards the underpinning knowledge of the N/SVQ
You will complete a range of mandatory and optional units, including:
- Engineering health & safety
- Engineering principles
- Maintenance of pneumatic systems
- Maintenance of hydraulic systems
- Principles of mechanical manufacturing engineering
- Machining materials by turning
You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations. You will also develop essential employability skills including:
