SUMMER/WINTER SCHOOL

Perfume is a symbol of timeless elegance and refinement through which to express one’s personality and state of mind. Transforming ideas into scents is however a very complex art that requires specific knowledge and a keen sensibility.

The Crèateur de Perfumes Summer School is designed to bring students closer to the perfume world, developing a deep understanding of the profession.

Under the tutorship of master perfumers, students will learn the main principles behind olfactory and sensory evaluation, working with raw materials and finished products and learning to evaluate, recognize and re-create scents and fragrances.

  • History of perfumery from antiquity to the present
  • Technical vocabulary and basic olfactory concepts
  • Natural raw materials and their olfactory characteristics
  • Synthetic raw materials and their olfactory characteristics
  • In-depth analysis: Natural and organic cosmetics
  • Study of harmonies: The effects obtained by combining olfactory notes
  • Olfactory recognition: development of the capacity to recognise the raw materials contained in complex harmonies
  • Creation of classical scents: Rose, may lily, jasmine and carnation
  • Creation of natural scents: Aromatic and flowery colognes
  • In-depth analysis of Aromatherapy essentials


Week 2

  • Survey of the olfactory structure of perfume
  • Survey of olfactory groups
  • Creation of a personal perfume
  • Presentation of the newly created scent
