Creative Fabric Decoration Workshop The Electric Theatre, Guildford, Sat 22nd Sept 2012 1-5pm.
Using effective techniques that you can recreate at home, this workshop shows you how to creatively embellish and decorate a fabric through sewing, appliqué, applying embellishments (such as beads, buttons, ribbon and rhinestones) and simple embroidery. By the end of the afternoon you will have a small collection of eye-catching and unique fabrics that are ready to use for other textiles projects. Please bring along some patterned or plain fabrics you wish to work with, any spare decorative ‘bits’ and a sewing machine (not essential). We will provide additional fabrics and embellishment items as part of the course fee. This is a fun, experimental and enjoyable day suitable for all levels of experience.
No previous experience of printmaking is necessary – just bring along a few patterned fabrics and embelishment items to work with and we will help you do the rest. Some fabrics and additiona, materials provided.
