This two year course offers an exciting opportunity to get the skills necessary to advance to higher education or gain employment within the media industry.
Areas of study will include film, motion graphics and visual effects, however those interested in photography, graphic design, animation and games development will also find the course valuable.
You will learn about all aspects of the creative process from pre-production to post production. You will be working on productions in practical, theoretical and written ways, producing portfolios and show reels of your work.

Course programme

The course is assessed by continuous assessment. Students work on projects, individually or in teams, which are designed to replicate professional media practices. Some projects involve producing media products for a client. Most assignments will be submitted using the online course management system.


Staying with Gower College Swansea, you could progress onto the Foundation Degree in English and History or Events Management. Further study at university or qualifications at Levels 4 and 5. Careers in the sector including advertising, animation, computer games design, multimedia design, photography and the recording industry.

Five GCSEs at grade A-C. You will also be required to submit a portfolio of artwork at your interview. Mature students with relevant skills or experience will also be considered. An interest in media and creativity is essential
