About this course
This course is suitable for anyone who has some experience of creative writing and would like to further develop their understanding of the subject, their creative writing skills, and their confidence in writing.
None are essential, but a good command of English would be advantageous, while some experience of and interest in creative writing would be useful.

How will I learn?
A mixture of small group discussions and interactive activities and individual tasks.

There is no formal assessment for this course, but you will receive continual feedback from your tutor and comments from your fellow class members

What equipment or materials will I need to provide?
None, other than a pen and some paper.
What other support is available?
Help with numeracy or literacy is available. ICT drop-in sessions are available during term time and are open to all learners. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Learner Support Funding is available for equipment, childcare and travel to learners who qualify. Key principles of prose writing – using conflict to generate a plot, developing characterisation, ‘showing’ skills
The varied forms and styles of poetry
Key script writing skills – character voice, writing dialogue, using subtext
