This one-day course will introduce you to basic concepts in critical realism (or refresh your basic knowledge) to help you apply them to your healthcare research or teaching.
Critical realism helps to:
resolve contradictions between factual-based research and interpretive research
clarify theories, reality and values
analyse interacting structure and agency
combine small and large scale research
research transformative change over time
Critical realism can be difficult to study on your own, especially if you lack resources and contacts. This course provides the opportunity to talk with others about your work and theirs, potentially making lasting contacts
