Course programme
Overview of the course:
The main focus of the level 1 programme is to develop practical hand skills and enhance basic underpinning knowledge of relevant industrial processes and techniques. These will be delivered in a workshop environment for practical sessions and classroom based for theory sessions such as technical drawing and I. L. T. Also Incorporated into the study programme will be functional skills (maths & English), tutorial, work experience, academic tutorial and relevant trips & guest visits.
Topics:
The qualification consists of three core and three 'trade specific' units:
• Health and safety
• Technical information, quantities and communication
• Construction Technology
• Produce woodworking joints
• Maintain and use Carpentry and Joinery hand tools
• Prepare and use Carpentry and Joinery power tools
