What will I study?
This pre-professional vocational dance training course will help you to build your skills in a range of different dance styles. The course consists of six different units which will provide you with a wide range of different dance performance opportunities and experiences. For students interested in a career in dance this course works as an excellent companion to the A Level dance programme.

Two years

Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
This course is physically demanding and only suitable for those committed to improving their dance skills through rigorous training activities.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is based on coursework and performances

What can I do afterwards?
Dance students from Lewes are now training at a range of prestigious dance schools and universities including London School of Contemporary Dance, London Studio Centre, Central School of Ballet and the Laban Centre. There is also an exciting opportunity to move on to the new Contemporary Dance Degree at Sussex Downs College.

Entry Requirements
You must demonstrate a real ability and commitment to dance training and have achieved a Grade B or above in GCSE dance or grade 5 in private dance school exams or the equivalent. You will also be required to attend a practical audition and interview which will allow you demonstrate your skills in dance performance. This is in addition to the standard college entry requirements for the programme you have chosen.
