About this course
You will need a proven interest in dance, two references and toattend a dance workshop/audition and interview. Applicants alsoneed a trainable body, physical skills of flexibility, strength,coordination and a natural body flow as well as subject specificskills including movement memory. These will all be assessed atyour audition.

This course is suitable for those with some dance training who
want technical training in the major dance techniques of ballet,
contemporary and jazz. It is particularly appropriate for those who

productions. Performance opportunities include the Choreographic
Platform and the Final Major Project.

for students to either progress into the Access to Dance course or
into Higher Education.

You will need a proven interest in dance, two references and to
attend a dance workshop/audition and interview. Applicants also
need a trainable body, physical skills of flexibility, strength,
coordination and a natural body flow as well as subject specific
skills including movement memory. These will all be assessed at
your audition.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is in practical class work and through written
assignments for AS Level Dance and criticism. Students have
practical exams at the end of term 1 or term 2 in ballet,
contemporary and jazz. There will be practical and written exams
for AS/A-level Dance in May and June. Students are also assessed on
performance work in the Final Major Project and the Annual Show is
in the summer term.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
